Listen: Pete Rock and Camp Lo release latest collaboration

August 2, 2013

The perpetually lavish-lifed Camp Lo, who has been embodying the spirit of the 70’s for over a decade now, hooks up with Pete Rock for a talent-studded mixtape released earlier this week. 80 Blocks From Tiffany’s Part II, the name taken from a landmark documentary about the desolation and urban decay of South Bronx in 1979, follows up on Part I’s release in 2011, the first collaboration between Camp Lo and Pete Rock. And despite being the second go-around for the concept, and the rather lengthy tracklist (weighing in at 26 tracks), the tracks still sound quite nice, with Geechi Suede and Sonny Cheeba hitting their trademark 70’s murmurs effortlessly under Pete Rock’s simple but effective beats, while guest appearances from Mac Miller, Talib Kweli, and Ab-Soul keeps the lineups fresh. Check out the mixtape stream, or download the entire set from DatPiff.
