Recap: Tech N9ne grinds his way home to Kansas City

Photos and Words: Bob Parsons / July 3, 2014

On June 28, The Midland in Kansas City Missouri welcomed home KC native Tech N9ne. The concert marked the last stop on the Independent Grind tour, which also featured Psych Ward Druggies, Jarren Benton, Freddie Gibbs, and Krizz Kaliko. The tour featured meet and greets/autograph signings and lengthy sets. The four hour concert included intense strobe lighting, choreographed dancing, and many personal thank yous to fans. At the age of 42, it’s apparent that Tech N9ne isn’t slowing down. LL Cool J once’s called himself the G.O.A.T.–he obviously hadn’t heard of Tecca Nina.

Tech N9ne’s new album is Strangeulation, and Krizz Kaliko’s new album is Son of Sam.
